Special thanks to my mom for taking the time to post tons of gifts ideas for Mother's Day! It's nice to get inside a Mother's head and know for sure exactly what she'd like!
I am blessed to be a mother. I am more blessed because my children love and honor me as they are taught to do from God's Word. I am even more blessed because I am also a grand mother. And I feel I am even more blessed because at this point, God has allowed all my children and grand children to be near me! Wow! Now what a responsibility I have to be a godly example to them and to teach them the things of the Lord.
And thou shalt teach them diligently unto thy children, and shalt talk of them when thou sittest in thine house, and when thou walkest by the way, and when thou liest down, and when thou risest up.
By God's grace and mercy, I am blessed with children who love the Lord with all their hearts and are working at training their children to do the same. As Mary pondered all these things in her heart (Luke2:19), so I often do with wonder and amazement. I pray daily and earnestly that all my grandchildren will be saved and will have a deep and burning desire to serve the Lord Jesus with all their hearts. So, children and grandchildren, are you wondering what special gift you can give your mom or grandmom this year? Give the Lord your heart and I promise, that will be a special gift and probably the best gift ever for your mother or grandmother.
The father of the righteous shall greatly rejoice: and he that begetteth a wise child shall have joy of him. Thy father and thy mother shall be glad, and she that bare thee shall rejoice.
Our children are the only “thing” that we can take with us to eternity and I am looking forward to all of them being there with me in the presence of our Savior. Have you, yourself, received the greatest gift? You can have that gift of eternal life today! It is for anyone and everyone!
For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
My children and grandchildren have blessed me with many other material gifts. Many of them are treasures to my heart. Why? Because they came from people who love me and are very dear to my heart. Below is a list of some of the things I have received. Perhaps, the list (more than 50 listed below) will give you some good ideas for a mother's day gift or birthday or anniversary gift. Or if you have another idea, maybe you would like to leave your comment below so it can be added to the list.
Gifts from my grandchildren
Gifts from my husband
Here is another collage picture of some of my favorite things:
Gifts I have given my mother-in-law. My mother-in-law is the only mother that I have left on earth. My mom, grandmom, grandmom-in-law and great grandparents are all in heaven. I miss seeing them and giving them gifts, but I am blessed with the gift of the promise of seeing them all again one day and spending all eternity together.
Many of the gifts I give my mother-in law come from Christian Book Distributors. I can order online and have them shipped directly to her. She has been very happy with these items and they do offer some great gift ideas. You can see some of the ideas in the pictures below.
1 Thessalonians 4:17-18 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord. Wherefore comfort one another with these words.
She loved it! She has since had more great grandchildren. The nice thing about this project is that I can print another one and she can easily replace the first one by swapping them out.

Well, I guess that about wraps it up. As I walk through my house I am overwhelmed with all the lovely treasures that have been bestowed upon me, but once again, it makes me thankful for the love that is shown to this mother through all of them.
Her children arise up, and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praiseth her.
Last year a friend gave me a framed picture for Mother's Day that had this quote on it:
“Good moms have sticky floors, dirty ovens, and happy kids.”
I put that little picture frame on the back of my oven. I had just had the twins, and life was really in a big transition period. Many times I would be standing there at the stove cooking supper, frustrated and overwhelmed with the piles of dishes, the dirty bathroom, and the volume of laundry. I would see that quote and be reminded about what is truly important – how I am raising my children. It helped me not to feel so guilty during those months when I simply didn't have enough time or enough hands!
I was very sad when my picture accidentally fell into the pot of french fry oil and was ruined! I made another one, and I thought you might enjoy it too! I created several different colors so hopefully you can find one that works for you! (Each one is an 8×10 jpg file).
And although it's not required, I'd love for you to sign up for my newsletter so I can send you a quick email when I have something awesome I think you'll want to know about! There are lots more homemaking freebies in the works on this here blog!
If you are my mother, I'm sorry, but you have to stop reading now unless you're reading this after Mother's Day.
For the rest of you, scroll down to see what my kids made their Grandmothers for Mother's Day!
These are handprint flowers that were so easy to make, but the kids had a blast! They got to use paint, markers, scissors, and glue! It doesn't get much better than that for a kid!
First I had them paint a popsicle stick with green paint. I love the little tongue sticking out!
He's really starting to get coordinated.
Then I traced their hands on construction paper, cut them out, and had them decorate them with markers.
I decided to lay down newspaper after the first couple minutes. I thought these were washable markers, but apparently they weren't. Thankfully a Magic Eraser took the stains off the table. The kids' hands still don't look too pretty, though!
When they were finished, we glued the hands to the popsicle sticks, then cut out some leaves and glued those on too. I hot glued magnets to the back and we were done.
I love the green lips!
We also printed off these questionnaires from The Crafting Chicks. I asked the kids the questions and they told me their answers. I had so much fun with this, and I know their grandmothers will love it. The answers were hilarious! They will absolutely love their ages and weights! Oh, and I found out that grandmothers secretly love to eat cupcakes!
Have you finished your Mother's Day projects yet? Did you make anything fun or buy anything special?
